HarperCollins is to publish a new book by the late Lord of the Rings author J R R Tolkien. The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrun, edited and introduced by Tolkien's son Christopher, will be published in hardback in May 2009.

Exploring Middle-earth: Lothlorien |
When Celeborn and Galadriel passed into Middle-earth, they settled at last beyond the Misty Mountains among the silvan folk of Laurelindorenan, the Land of the Valley of Singing Gold. It’s name sprang from the colours of the mallorn trees which grow there, whose leaves turn golden in the autumn. Lord Celeborn is acknowledged throughout Middle-earth as the wisest of the Wise, while Galadriel his wife is known to have the gift of foresight, though much of the truth lies in the Ring of Power she secretly wields: Nenya, the Ring of Adamant. Together they rule the Golden Wood, protecting it through the power of Nenya.
In these latter days, the name of the wood has become simply Lothlorien, the Dreamflower. Evil does not enter there, though neither do many others, for they jealously guard their borders, distrustful of the world beyond. In these dark days, however, Lothlorien’s borders will soon be opened . . . War is upon their threshold.
Lothlorien is one of the most famous locations in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, and one of the last places of Power remaining to the forces of good. Players of The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria will surely want to visit Lothlórien and offer their services to the Lord and Lady.

Book 7 Changes |
Scenario
The Lord of the Rings Online Team Turbine, Inc.
- We do release new regions with our Book updates from time to time. Book 7, as has been discussed previously, is all about wrapping up Lothlorien. I don't know when official details will be announced regarding the particulars of Book 7 will occur but it wouldn't surprise me if information started to trickle out in the near future.
- I don't think we have any interim bug/hotfix patches planned between now and release of Book 7. But - if something seriously destabilizing occurs that needs resolution, it is not entirely out of the question.

- More DPS for low level RK's

I'd like to thank the RK community, I've enjoyed reading your comments and feedback. The discussions have been very civil and many people have used actual evidence or examples to support their claims! I will be writing up a more comprehensive list of changes as Book 7 aproaches, and as testing refines the modifications. Remember, this is a teaser and is subject to change.

How to make money with the Farming/Cook professions |
To make a couple of gold coins in about 6 hours of work, of which for half the time you must be at the keyboard the other half you can be semi afk... I say semi because you have to check in every so often so you don't auto log due to inactivity. First you want to reach the Master level or Tier 5 crafting in both Cooking and Farming. Once you have reached this, you can begin to brew Blackberry Ale.

Craft XP Token |
Those who were affected by the crafting XP issue should begin seeing an item in your mail boxes over the next several days. It is very important you understand what this item will and will not do.
The item is single use and will advance your crafting XP one full level. This will only apply to a proficiency level not a mastery level. For example it will advance you through Journeyman level but not Master Journeyman. The item will not advance any crafting past Tier 5 and does not apply to any Tier 6 level crafts you may have. Be aware of this limitation when using your item as we cannot replace any item once used.
