Chair Racing

You don't have to buy horse, there is a new transportation way in Bree town and it's totally free - known as a Chair. Yes, you can race or make a train, but most of all you will have a great time. It's a small bug with /sit function, but I hope it will last forever:) Thanks to Lerreas and GV-Tanith for these great screenshots. Click on the images below to see their full size.

Old Forest

After the Book 12 patch Old Forest has become a safe place to wander around. Yes, I can say the Old Forest is dead. All those crazy jumping trees are passive now. I can’t forget my first time in the Old Forest. The Tree was running at me! I was so shocked and so dead few seconds later. I must admit I hated those trees, but they were the main signature of the Old Forest. Now, they will threaten first and agro only if you get too close! Sad, isn’t it?

Furniture Changes

The bear trophy is a large furniture item after The Book 12 patch! So, if you are planning to redecorate your house, think twice before you decide to move the bear trophy. Also, all new trophies are Bind on Acquire, so we can forget about selling them on Auction House!

  • It is now possible for housing decorations to be bound to a player. Bound decorations will work as usual for the player they are bound to when attached to a housing hook.
  • It is not possible for players to remove bound decorations that are not bound to them from housing hooks.
  • The housing hook UI now has a return to owner button; this button is visible when viewing a bound decoration that is not bound to the viewer. The return to owner button will return the bound decoration to the owner’s escrow storage.

Character Transfer

If you are trying to transfer your character from one server to another one, you should know that there have been a few problems. Some of players have lost their characters on old server and characters didn’t appear on new one. You should avoid trying to connect your character before receiving an e-mail in which Codemasters will inform you that the character has been transferred.

LOTRO's Premium Service is still fully functional at our end. In regards to the issues with characters being stuck between worlds, the majority of these have been fixed with only a few still outstanding - in which a resolution is still being sought.

If you contact custservice@codemasters.com they will be able to tell you the status of your character.

If payment has gone through then contact customer support (custservice@codemasters.com) and they should be able to give you a status update. If payment has not gone through then I would suggest trying again on an alternative computer / connection.

Festival horse for gold edition users

The Bree-mount uses a separate system from the level 35 mounts and should not be confused with them. If you have bought the gold edition and applied the item code to your account you will have a Bree-steed item in one of your inventory bags. Once you have done the bree-mount quests (available at level 25) you can exchange the item for a Bree-mount. You don't have to pay any additional price for a Bree-mount.

Once you have a Bree-mount the only thing you can exchange it for is a Bree-mount of another type. For example if you chose Bree-pony and your character is an Elf or Man then you can exchange it to a Bree-horse.

In order to get the festival mount you have to buy a level 35 mount first. That costs 4 gold and 220 silver. Once you have your level 35 mount you have to barter (trade/exchange) it with the vendor. You will receive a receipt of purchase when you do so. Once you have the receipt you can barter it plus 6 festival tokens and 1 festival run token for the Festival (harversmath) mount.

Do not sell any mount that you have. Once you log off you will not to be able to get it back and it will be lost forever.
Do not destroy your tokens. The same applies. You won't be able to get any more. Unless the same festival happens in autumn of this year.

Faya

* The work around in the release notes is as follows

Hardware
Certain Realtek cards may play sounds too loudly, play too many sounds at once, or play no sound at all. The current workaround is as follows:
On the Options > Audio menu, change Sound Playback from “Generic Hardware on Realtek AC97 Audio” to “Generic Software on Realtek AC97 Audio.”

**To find your driver version, please do the following;

For Windows XP

Right click on My Computer and go to Properties
In Properties go to the Hardware tab and select Device Manager
In the Device Manager window open the Sound, video and game controllers
Right click on your Sound card and go to Properties
In Properties go to Driver and that’s where you will find the Driver Version.

For Windows Vista

Right click on Computer and go to Properties
In Properties select Device manager
In the Device Manager window open the Sound, video and game controllers
Right click on your Sound card and go to Properties
In Properties go to Driver and that’s where you will find the Driver Version.

Beware when using Dye Washes

The Dye Wash does not act as a method of reverting the current dye color to the previous dye color. What the wash does is restore the color back to the "factory" default, if you will (the color the item was originally designed with). The base texture is sort of ugly undyed. So players never see it undyed, it's always given a dye color of some sort. If the armor is sort of lower-quality in appearance, like rusty chainmail, the base dye color is meant to just look pretty nondescript. If it's high-level stuff, like the PvMP armor, its base dye color is usually a vivid color. Dye colors are never blended: if we put purple in as a base dye color, then that color is removed, and entirely replaced, with a different dye color, when players dye it. Now when players dye-wash that armor, it goes back to its base purple.

The dye wash will remove player dyes from armor, and take it back to this base color. On some armors, it has the appearance of having removed color, but on other armors, it has the appearance of taking it to some arbitrary color. Given that loot can itself be dyed randomly, the armor may be taken back to a color you haven't seen it with before.

If you're saying you have an item that was white, got dyed, and dye wash takes it back to some other color, please PM me with the item name and a screenshot of the way it looks now, and I will have a look.

For randomly dyed items, its color is indicated in the tooltip, which should make getting the correct dye not too much of a problem.

There are relatively few items in-game that have a very distinct base color. There are some elven armor sets that do, which was a way to get some elf-specific palette colors into the armor. But mostly, there aren't many items where you should be seeing this problem.

TheStormKing: Why can't we just get 3 sliders - R G and B - to set the color?

We're avoiding the H0T P1NK ARM0R!!1! problem by not doing things that way.
