Is book 14 going to be a little smaller than previous books because of the work on Moria?

It all depends on how you look at it.. in certain areas, absolutely.  We are not adding a whole new region, like we did in a couple updates, because people are working on building out Moria.  We are adding a bunch of new content, maybe on balance not as much new content than as we have in some of the other ones.    On the other hand, we are having an awful lot of activity and stuff that you can do with some of this live event and event related stuff we are doing.  I would say, a little smaller than our other updates, but I want to be clear, that we have grown our LOTRO team in order to start building expansion on top of our live team, we didn't just sever our live team and throw them over to Moria and say "we will worry about the live game later".

European subscribers to The Lord of the Rings Online™ are now able to use their Player Account System (PAS) username and password to log into and edit the LOTRO Lorebook for the first time.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the European community to take part in the day to day updating of everything to do with The Lord of the Rings Online™ and help to support the global community with our wealth of knowledge.

The Lorebook is a wiki which contains hundreds of pages of information pulled directly from the game’s databases, including quests, items, recipes, creatures, NPCs, locations, and more. There’s even a Google map of Middle-earth on which the locations of many items are marked. These pages can be searched, linked to one another, and most are editable by LOTRO players to add their notes and tips for other players.

• The Lorebook currently only supports English language. Pages which communicate in any other language including French and German will be removed until we have the systems and support in place to manage those languages at the level of quality we’d be happy with.
• Players are free to edit or add any information as long as it is accurate and relevant. Any irrelevant text will be removed without notice.
• Misuse of this feature will lead to your username being banned from the Lorebook. This means all login access will be removed.
• European players are free to create their own Kinship pages however at this time there are no European server listings.

The creature Gollum earned his name because of the horrible noises he makes in his throat. Gandalf the Grey speculated that he belonged to a race of river-folk akin to the hobbits, which once dwelt east of the Misty Mountains in the Vale of Anduin. Gollum’s tale is a sad and perilous one.

Sméagol, as was his name of old, went fishing on his birthday with his friend Déagol, who was suddenly pulled into the river by a fish. There, Déagol found a shiny gold ring in the silt at the river-bottom. Sméagol demanded the ring as a birthday present, but Déagol refused to relinquish it Overcome by the power of the Ring – for this was the One Ring of the Dark Lord Sauron – Sméagol murdered his friend and claimed the Ring for himself. Banished by his people, he fled to a cave in the Misty Mountains, where the Ring’s power twisted his body and mind even as it prolonged his life for centuries.

Hundreds of years later, Gollum lost the Ring – or rather the Ring chose to be lost again – just in time for the hobbit Bilbo Baggins to stumble upon it. After a lengthy riddle-game in which Gollum tried to cheat his way to an easy meal – namely Bilbo – the hobbit escaped from the cave with the Ring’s aid, leaving the frustrated Gollum to stew in his own wrath until he at last gained the courage to leave the Misty Mountains in search of his birthday present. Since then he has endured many torments, including captivity at the hands of the Ranger Aragorn and the Elves of Mirkwood, and also torture in Mordor at the whim of Sauron. Still he endures, driven by a ceaseless yearning to regain the Ring… his “precious.”

Gollum appears in The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™ at a time between his escape from the Elves of Mirkwood and when he began following the Company of the Ring at the gates of Moria. Fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings will no doubt wish to track down the elusive creature and thwart his mischief....

Tips for Traveling with Alynora Airlines:

• Travelling rations normally provided, however in the case of an outage, please be prepared to supply your own meal.

• Departures will be announced, all those within a certain range within the fellowship will be transported, so if you do not plan on joining, please make sure to step away! For those traveling please be sure to fasten your seatbelts and follow any safety instructions given before flight.
• Alynora Airlines takes no liabilities in accidental/unintended travel. All members wishing to travel receive a gump that allows them to choose to travel or not. There are no emergency exits available unlike the emergency dismount available with horse travel.
