For generations, the Dwarves of Middle-earth have dreamt of returning to the great mansions of Khazad-dum, reopening the mines of Moria, and reclaiming their majestic, ancestral homes-and the mithril buried below them-beneath the Misty Mountains.

In the Third Age, more than one expedition has dared to brave the depths of Moria, from the doomed kin of brave Balin to the desperate Fellowship of the Ring. Some have entered Moria with plans of taming the place, others in hopes merely of passing through it alive, but all have suffered dreadful losses along the way. Now, a new expedition of hopeful Dwarves has set out to brave the deep places of the mine and its mansions and conquer the evil within. Its leaders hope to enter the legendary halls via the fabled Hollin Gate hidden amidst the cliffs and holly trees where Eregion meets the mountains, and set in the Walls of Moria.

We would like to thank Caderlyfor this great guide about Fall Festival - locations for the Troves & Trickery quests (updated 10/20/2010).

When you get the quest, you look for 4 people in the area with a blue ring over their head. Talk to them. They'll tell you something that gives a hint of an emote you need to do. Keep the NPC highlighted, and do the emote. If you do the right one, the NPC will be pleased. Find all 4, do the emotes, then return to the original quest giver for the reward.

General
Festival started without any notice; forum notice only appeared nearly a day after the festival actually started

Troves and Trickery

1. Numerous locations -- If an NPC task-giver also has other quests for you, you won't see the Troves quest ring & won't even be able to see the quest until accepting the non-festival ones.
2. ??? [need specifics on which one(s) -- Sometimes quest gets stuck and doesn't reset, just keeps showing a several-hour cooldown day after day
3. Various* -- When some NPCs say "XXXXX enjoys your trick," sometimes the NPC name is wrong (e.g., the bowyer in Thorin's Hall)
4. Hobbiton -- The quest dialogue says to search all over the Shire, when it should just be all over Hobbiton.
5. Hobbiton -- The quest dialogue still describes putting on a mask to play, even though that feature was removed.

Vendors/Barterers

1. All locations -- If you try to win the barter prize (geode, apple, whatever) and your bags are full, it will automatically give you the 1-hr cooldown and not give the reward
2. Thorin's Hall Geode Barterer -- Has a "Browse the Shop" link but no goods. ("Barter" works but not "Browse the Shop")
3. Hobbiton Apple Barterer -- Has a "Browse the Shop" link but no goods. ("Barter" works but not "Browse the Shop")
4. Inn League Rep Barterer -- Still needs summer tokens for a dance scroll, won't accept fall tokens.
5. Horse Trader at Bree Party Field -- Wants 12 Fall Festival tokens for the same horse that Cam Applewood at the Horsefields farm only wants 6 for.

Items

1. Masks -- Though dyeable in the dressing room screen, they cannot actually be dyed.
2. Festival Banner House Decorations -- Though the text says "A banner to display festival events," the banner doesn't seem to have updated from Summer to Fall/Harvest.

* Specifics of wrong names for task-givers:
-- THORIN'S HALL - Adwyn Flame-Eye in Thorin's Hall is changed to "Torri" when responding to your trick.
-- HOBBITON - Lobelia's name is misspelled "Lobellia" when she responds to your trick.
-- HOBBITON - Porto Brownlock is only called "Novice Farmhand" when he responds to your trick.
-- BREE - Lily Sandheaver shows up as "Lily Heathertoes" when she laughs at your trick.

Welcome Autumn with the return of the Fall Festival! Race in the Shire or Bree for the Harvestmath horse, bob for apples, learn racial dances, and more! New for this year is a new questline that rewards you with festival masks you can use year-round. The Festival runs from September 26 and ends on October 12. Have fun!

Lubathred (Notary) is on gazebo overlookign river near mailbox, and you /cower for him.
Fanhir (One-Handed Weaponsmith) is across waterfall from Nathronwen, and you /roar for her.
Barchiril (Duillond Housing Broker) is outside of the Falathorn Homesteads, and you /whippitydo for her.

Notes: The Dances and Horse Races have a repeat cycle of about once every 15 minutes. You can repeat the Games-masters activities once every hour, and the Trickster quests are only repeatable about once every 8 hours. Games-master tasks are done by just using the item near them (Apple Tub, Pumpkin Patch, Chest of Geodes, Scroll Chest), and then bartering the resulting item to the Games-master for tokens (or a festival mask).
